Months of desk work, old injuries and compensations that never fully healed, stubborn knots you've been living with — they all sit deep. Deep tissue massage is the work of getting underneath them. Firm, targeted pressure into muscle and connective tissue, applied with the intent to actually change how you feel and move. Not a spa ritual. A physical reset.

Who it's for

  • Office workers carrying months of shoulder, neck and lower-back tension.
  • Active adults with old injuries that still pull or stiffen under load.
  • Runners and gym-goers who feel tight even after mobility work.
  • Anyone whose sleep, posture or mood is quietly affected by chronic tension.

What your session looks like

60 minutes, one-on-one, inside the Longevity Suite at Virgin Active Msheireb. We take the time to understand where the tension actually lives before we touch it.

  1. Assessment (5–10 min)

Short conversation about your day-to-day, sleep, training, and where you feel stuck. We screen how your body is moving.

  2. Targeted deep tissue work (40–45 min)

Slow, firm pressure into the muscles and fascia that matter — glutes, hips, upper back, neck, calves. We work with your breath, not against it.

  3. Reset + home plan (5 min)

Light mobility cues and 2–3 things you can do this week to keep the release. No fluff, no supplement upsell.

What you can expect afterwards

  • 01Immediately: lighter shoulders, fuller breath, ~20–30% more range in the areas worked.
  • 0224–48h: mild soreness, like after a moderate workout — a sign the tissue was asked to change.
  • 03Day 3–5: noticeably freer movement, better sleep, fewer end-of-day headaches and tightness.
  • 04Over weeks: with 2–4 sessions, the baseline tension drops and the knots stop coming back to the same spots.

Frequently asked

Is deep tissue the same as a strong massage?

No. Strong pressure without intent just bruises you. Deep tissue is sustained, precise pressure into the tissues that actually need it — it's firm, but it should never feel like we're fighting your body.

Will it hurt?

There's a 'good hurt' when a stuck area releases — sharp for a second, then relief. Real pain is a signal to back off, and we do. You stay in control throughout.

How often should I come?

For long-held tension, 2 to 4 sessions every 7–14 days gets the body to a new baseline. Most clients then maintain with one session every 4–6 weeks.

Can I train the same day?

Light movement and walking — yes. Heavy lifting or intense conditioning — skip it for 24 hours. Let the work settle.

What should I wear?

Comfortable underwear. We use draping throughout — only the area being worked is uncovered, always.
