General
How can I book an appointment with MVP Physio?
Booking can be made online at mvpphysio.com/book, where you can pick your service and choose a time that suits you. If you prefer to speak to someone, call us on +974 4499 9916, message us on WhatsApp at +974 7778 0970, or email info@mvpphysio.com and we'll take care of the rest.
Do I need to be a Virgin Active member to book an appointment?
No. MVP Physio is open to everyone, Virgin Active members and non-members alike. Whether you're a professional athlete, a weekend recreational player, or someone with a more sedentary lifestyle managing everyday aches and pains, our physiotherapy and massage services are for you.
Do I need a referral to book physiotherapy?
No referral is needed to book directly with MVP Physio. If you plan to claim through medical insurance, some insurers require a doctor's referral for reimbursement, so it's best to check your policy first. If we believe further imaging or a medical opinion is needed, we'll guide you to the right specialist.
Can I use medical insurance for my session?
Sessions are paid at the clinic by card, Apple Pay or cash. If your insurance policy covers physiotherapy, we're happy to provide an invoice and supporting documentation for your own claim. It's best to check your coverage with your insurer beforehand.
Are MVP's therapists licensed?
Yes. All physiotherapists at MVP Physio are MOPH-licensed and Chartered, with backgrounds in elite sports physiotherapy.
What's the difference between physiotherapy and massage?
Physiotherapy starts with a clinical assessment to identify why the pain or movement problem is happening, then combines hands-on treatment with targeted exercise and load management to resolve the underlying cause and reduce the chance of it returning. Massage works directly on the soft tissue, easing tension, tightness, and restriction in the moment. If you're managing an injury or ongoing pain, physiotherapy is the right starting point; if you're maintaining flexibility or recovering between training sessions, massage is a great fit. Many clients use both.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:
- Sports injuries, acute and chronic, from hamstring strains to ACL rehabilitation
- Back and neck pain
- Shoulder, hip, and knee conditions
- Post-surgical rehabilitation
- Tendinopathy and overuse injuries
- Foot and ankle injuries
- Running-related injuries, including runner's knee, and gait analysis
- Return-to-sport and performance programmes
- Workplace related pain

Physiotherapy
Will you assess me before starting physiotherapy?
Yes. Your physiotherapist will assess your movement, symptoms, and contributing factors before treatment starts, so your care is safe, targeted, and based on your needs.
What can I expect at my first physiotherapy appointment?
Your first appointment is focused on finding the cause of your symptoms, not just the painful area. Your physiotherapist will review your history, assess your movement and function, explain the findings, and outline your treatment plan. You'll also receive treatment and exercise advice in the same visit.
How long is a physiotherapy session, and what does it cost?
All sessions, both the initial assessment and follow-ups, are 45 minutes, priced at 600 QAR. That gives your physiotherapist time to assess you, treat you, and guide your next steps in the same visit.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the condition. Acute issues often resolve in 4 to 6 sessions; longer-standing or post-surgical cases typically need a structured plan. We give you an honest timeline after your first assessment.
Can physiotherapy help if I'm not currently injured?
Yes. Physiotherapy can help prevent injuries, improve strength and mobility, and support better long-term movement even when you're not in pain. It's a good option if you want to move, train, or function better.
Can dry needling be included in my physiotherapy session?
Yes. Dry needling is a technique where fine needles are inserted into specific trigger points in muscle and fascia to release tension, reduce pain, and restore normal movement. It's not a separate appointment; if your physiotherapist assesses that dry needling would benefit your condition, it's incorporated directly into your 45-minute physiotherapy session alongside hands-on therapy and exercise, at no extra cost.
What should I bring or wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move in: shorts and a t-shirt are ideal. This helps your physiotherapist properly assess movement and posture, so please avoid restrictive clothing where possible. If you have recent scans (MRI, X-ray) or a surgical report, please bring them along.
Massage Therapy
What massage options are available?
Deep Tissue Massage and Sports Massage, each a 60-minute session priced at 450 QAR.
Is sports massage only for athletes?
No. Sports massage is suitable for anyone experiencing muscle tightness, soreness, or fatigue, including gym users, office workers, runners, and anyone with a physically demanding or sedentary job.
What's the difference between deep tissue and sports massage?
Deep tissue massage uses firm, targeted pressure to work into muscle and connective tissue, easing chronic tension, old injuries, and stubborn knots. Sports massage is tailored to your activity and muscle groups, built for training and event prep, reducing soreness and improving flexibility so you recover faster between sessions.
How is massage different from physiotherapy?
Massage focuses on soft tissue release and recovery, while physiotherapy includes assessment, diagnosis, and rehabilitation of injuries. Massage can be used on its own or alongside physiotherapy, depending on your needs.
Will massage help prevent injuries?
Yes. By addressing tight muscles, reduced flexibility, and soft tissue restrictions, regular massage can help reduce strain on joints and lower the risk of overuse injuries.
Can I save by booking multiple sessions?
Yes. Massage packages of 4, 8, or 12 sessions can be bought online, saving 5 to 15% versus the single-session price. Packages are valid for 30, 60, or 90 days respectively, and sessions are scheduled by phone or at reception. Further reductions are available for Virgin Active members.
